I Love DIY

A few weeks ago, Geneva Vanderzeil of the DIY fashion blog, A Pair and A Spare, celebrated the launch of her book, DIY FashionistaGeneva is truly awe-inspiring — she manages to make runway-inspired looks often using nothing more than thrifted clothing, a few beads and maybe some glue. I’ve really enjoyed following her blog over the past year (especially since she’s been in Hong Kong!) and was so overjoyed when she published her first book!

Genius!

The book launch, which was held at the Landmark’s Bookazine, included some really covetable cupcakes and of course, a DIY session. It was a fun time to connect with other people who love DIY and to hear about her journey from blogging about DIY projects to selecting entries for her book. Here are some photos from the event:

All her hard work has paid off!

Whether you’re a DIY pro or just getting into it, I highly recommend checking out Geneva’s blog for new ideas and tips. It’s an approachable way to get started on some beautiful and exciting projects. I also recommend her book as well — packed with forty different things you can make for yourself, including skirts, shoes, capes, collars and accessories. It’s a fantastic resource for any DIY-er. Happy crafting!
